Lieut. John W. Robinson, R.N.V.R. - Album One

Initially serving at second in command of ML 424 (under Lieut. Oswald Robinson, R.N.V.R. - no relation) in which he took part in the St. George's Day raid on Zeebrugge (winning the DSC), Robinson was appointed to ML 121 on 14 May 1918, taking command on 11 December 1918. Eleven days later ML 121 was lost and Robinson was appointed to command of ML 229. After the war Robinson and ML 229 were part of the Rhine Flotilla at Cologne, Germany where he remained until ML 229 was lost to an explosion at a fuel dock. Shortly after this Robinson was discharged back to civilian life.
